Why Move to Toledo?

Our slogan “You’ll Do Better In Toledo” is in place for many reasons. It is an affordable city with plenty of housing options, offers plentiful job opportunities, and has a vibrant and diverse culture. The city has a great public transportation system, excellent healthcare, and plenty of parks and public spaces for outdoor recreation. The Toledo Metroparks is continually improving the local park network and is bringing downtown Toledo along for the ride! With parks on both sides of the river in Downtown and a Splashpad, you’ll find great activities for all ages.
Speaking of downtown, Toledo’s has never been in a better position than it is right now. The completion of the Glass City Convention Center renovation is completed and the space is beautiful. Combined with our nationally recognized Huntington Center for hockey and Fifth Third Field for baseball, we are poised to attract new visitors from all walks of life to enjoy Toledo. There is also a variety of restaurants and bars that are perfect for a lunch meeting or a night out on the town!
Toledo is also home to several major universities, which adds to its cultural and educational offerings. The University of Toledo is located within city limits and Bowling Green State University is located just a few miles south on I-75. These Universities provide a strong workforce for our local area as well as a great sports rivalry!
Finally, Toledo is located on the Maumee River, which provides easy access to Lake Erie and many of the recreational activities that it offers.
Logistically speaking, Toledo provides great access to major metro areas. We are 40 minutes from Detroit airport, 4 hours drive to Chicago, 2 ½ hours to Columbus, and 2 hours to Cleveland. Just south of Toledo is the “Crossroads of America” where I-90 meets I-75 making travel for business or pleasure a breeze.
